The Melville Area is a fabulously eclectic suburb. It has an abundance of interesting shops, characteristic architecture and friendly people. Melville offers a view of the artistic temperament of Johannesburg, a side not often seen by those restricted to the northern suburbs close to Sandton. There is a great variety of shopping malls and unique destination boutiques, restaurants and music bars. 7th Street (walking distance from Melville Manor) is one street lined with vibrant stores and restaurants.

Melville has its very own Visitors Information Centre. A space for proudly South African art, literature, tours and tips for travelers.

Johannesburg is a wonderfully vibrant city. Since it’s discovery of gold 100 or so years ago it has expanded both architecturally and culturally. Johannesburg is a grand mix of important geological sites, historical hubs and an ever increasing business axis for the rest of South Africa.

Whether you are here as a tourist wanting to see the sights, a business traveler or just passing through Johannesburg there is ample to do, to see and to eat.
